NEW FEATURES - Pupil reflection logs and worksheet generator
From 'My Learning record', pupils can create their own music diary - reflect on their learning and upload musical ideas; audio files or song lyrics... anything!
Also a new powerful resource for teachers... from the dashboard teachers can now generate music worksheets that can be edited, exported as PDFs and the printed or uploaded to other platforms. AI tools can of course generate useful resources for the classroom, however they can't produce resources with staff notation on them! With Music Scholars you can.
New feature! Assign your pupils an exam...
Dear teachers... from your dashboard, go to New Assignment / Exam. From there you can assign classes an exam. Your students will receive a notification informing them they've been set an exam. At present it's an ABRSM style grade 1 theory exam that's available... with more to follow soon. The ABRSM style grade 1 theory exam has a timer of 60 minutes. After a student has submitted an exam they can request a retake - you'll receive a notification and can accept or decline the request.
Also, to be released in July will be an exam creator - giving you the tools to tailor exams according to your students' skills and knowledge.

Geoff Pearce, creator of Music-Scholars.com, was invited to Patrick John's latest Teaching Notes podcast to talk about Music-Scholars.com! A great episode with David Gray discussing his ukulele event, The Big Strum, and Karen Marshall discussing her new book 'How to Teach Music – Music and Neurodiversity: A practical guide for teachers and parents'. In Patrick's podcast, Geoff talks about some of the main features on Music-Scholars.com as well as the reasons for creating the music education platform, including the decline in the number of pupils pursuing GCSE and A-level music. Music-Scholars.com aims to turn that around by empowering pupils to gain the academic confidence to pursue music beyond year 9. We have take off!
More than 1000 hours of working tirelessly on Music-Scholars.com - and it's launched. This marks the launch of version 1.0 and we welcome you to try it out. As with any building work and especially a new build - there will be snags! So, we’d be very happy to hear of any that you spot. Aside from any snags; the website will continually be improved upon - this is just the start. Partnerships and collaborations with major music industry leaders is well underway. Through these partnerships we’ll have high quality music and sounds across the website in lessons as well as in the composition tools. Over the summer, versions 1.1 of the DAW and staff composer will be released with improved ergonomics and new features. Lessons will continually be tweaked and enhanced. Later in June summative end of unit assessments will be in place across the website. These could be used for end of term or end of year exams.
Lastly, I’d like to thank my family, friends, as well as the schools and students that have helped and supported the project. This is just the beginning - let's put music back on the map.
