About Music Scholars
Empowering music learners worldwide with innovative technology and expert guidance
The Founder
Not long ago, I asked a musically talented student if they'd be taking GCSE music. Their answer was a clear "no." They explained their reason: "because of the theory and compositions, I've heard it's really hard." This became the primary motivation for launching this app. A second reason is that I have students who bravely embarked on GCSE music, passionately wanting to learn despite struggling with the theory, only to find themselves paired with peers already at Grade 5 theory and Grade 7 violin. And finally, the third reason is the alarming statistics regarding the steady decline of students pursuing music academically at GCSE, A-level, and university levels. As a music teacher, I know all too well the joy music brings to students, its mental health benefits, its cognitive exercise for brain development, the team spirit it nurtures, and the communities it fosters. My aim for Music-Scholars is to enable every student, regardless of their background, to access music beyond KS3! Please join the Music-Scholars community, and together, let's ensure music doesn't become an endangered field of study.
